Windows Mobile - Speed it up

Note: These suggestions apply to Windows Mobile Devices including the HTC Touch/Dual, AT&T Tilt, Verizon XV6800 and XV6900, T-Mobile Wing, Sprint Mogul, Sprint Touch

The following are our suggestions on how to speed up and improve your phone experience in 4 simple steps:

Speed up the Start Menu
Go to Start>Settings[Personal tab]>Large Start Menu

- Un-check this option. The Start Menu will now open much faster.

Simplify, Organize and Speed Up the Today Screen
Disable the HTC Home Today plugin and re-organize the Today screen to match your usage preferences:
Go to Start>Settings[Personal tab]>Today[Items tab]:

- Uncheck the HTC Home item

- Enable only the items you really need such as Date/Time, Owner Info, PhotoContacts, Messaging, Calendar

Disable the Task Manager (for the Touch which has plenty of RAM)
- Go to Start>Settings[System]>Task Manager[Button]

- Uncheck the "Enable... "option

Make it look good - Switch the Today Theme to Windows Mobile Green
- Go to Start>Settings[Personal tab]>Today[Appearance tab]

- Select the Windows Mobile Green theme.

Once you're done your Today Screen will look like this (with Favorite/Recent-Call sections shown if Photo Contacts PRO is installed):

These are just our suggestions - you can play with any combination of the above modifications. We experienced the best phone performance with all of the above.
